Requirements

We seek a skilled Senior Database Developer with PostgreSQL, SQL, and data migration expertise to join our team. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing data migration processes, ensuring seamless data integration across various platforms. In addition to handling multiple databases across different environments, you will also optimize performance, troubleshoot issues, and maintain data integrity.

Responsibilities:

• Data Migration & Integration: Design and implement data migration strategies to efficiently move data between different databases and systems. Develop and maintain scripts, stored procedures, and queries to support migration activities. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and ensure data integrity throughout the migration process. Perform data quality assessments and implement data cleansing processes to maintain accuracy and consistency.

• Database Management & Optimization: Maintain and oversee multiple databases across different environments, ensuring stability and security. Optimize database performance, indexing, and query execution to enhance efficiency. Troubleshoot and resolve database issues, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal system performance.

• ETL & Data Warehousing: Work with ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to manage structured and unstructured data. Utilize data migration tools and techniques to automate and streamline processes. Apply data warehousing principles to support analytics and reporting needs.

• Continuous Improvement & Documentation: Monitor and enhance database performance by fine-tuning configurations and indexing strategies. Stay up to date with best practices in database development, security, and cloud-based data management. Document data migration processes, including mapping documents and technical specifications, to maintain clear operational records.

• Proven experience as a Database Developer or in a similar role.

• Strong SQL expertise and hands-on experience with PostgreSQL and other database management systems.

• Experience handling multiple databases across different environments.

• Proficiency in developing and maintaining stored procedures to optimize database performance.

• Knowledge of data migration tools and techniques, ensuring smooth transitions between systems.

• Familiarity with ETL processes and tools to manage data transformation workflows.

• Experience working with cloud-based data management.

• Understanding of data warehousing concepts and technologies.

• Experience with scripting languages for database automation and optimization.

Nice to Have:

• Experience optimizing PostgreSQL performance in high-volume environments.

• Familiarity with NoSQL databases or other modern database technologies.

• Experience working with data visualization and reporting tools.

• Exposure to containerized database deployments (Docker, Kubernetes).
